Saker Cars Select Avon

Based in New Zealand, Saker Cars are world-renowned as kit car manufacturers, building quality sports cars for motor racing use as well as normal road touring.

The Saker cars will comply with Australian Design rules and have powerful engines ranging from 350 hp upwards, while weighing in at around a minimal 980 kg.

With this excellent power to weight ratio, the selection of a true performance tyre with premium ride qualities was of the greatest concern, according to Saker importer, Frank Burke.

"We tested the Avon ZZ3 on the Saker prototype and other high performance road cars, and were very impressed with every aspect of this tyre," he said.

"It has the Avon heritage and, being a European tyre, it has to perform well or it would not survive in the marketplace. We've selected low profile 17" Avon ZZ3 pattern to fit our Australian-made Simmons Wheels, which are 8.5" wide on the front and 9.5" on the rear."
