Over $40,000 Up for Grabs

Competitors in this year's tough and challenging Extreme 4WD events are now eligible for up to $43,000 in conditional prizemoney from Exclusive Tyres, distributors of American-manufactured Mickey Thompson products.

Mickey Thompson Tyres produce the famous Baja Claw 4WD tyre, which has been used by more winners of Extreme 4WD events in Australia than any other tyre. These victories include the Ateco Winch challenge event and many rounds of the Xtreme Winch Challenge series held in south east Queensland.

Competition teams who nominate for the prizemoney in 2002 will become part of the Mickey Thompson Racing Team, and will receive Mickey Thompson tyres at special discounts, plus a signage and clothing package to ensure professional presentation at the events.

Brand manager for Mickey Thompson tyres, Scott Jennings, announced the prize pool recently and is "over the moon" that team members Tony Dodds and Tony Ryan placed first and third at a recent NSW round of the 2002 Xtreme Winch Challenge. Both were in Nissan Patrols using the Baja Claw pattern with bias belted construction.

Scott explained that Mickey Thompson was a legendary off road racer who died 12 years ago, but still holds 485 national and international speed and endurance records. He was instrumental in starting stadium-style off road events and remains one of America's motorsport icons.
